So some inside dope on what made RG do so well, is the CC finally getting a handel on the car or is RG just relaying car conditions so the CC can make adjustments? Any way great finish.
I'm not sure if that's really the problem... I just got done watching a ton of pit stop videos on YouTube and it seems as if the rear tire changer almost always lags behind. They have a greater distance to go so it's only logical that they would be slower getting around the car.
what do you want him to do?? run in front of the car before it stops like the front tire changer can do?? plus the front tire changer doesn't have as far to run around to get to the other tire. maybe he could have timed when he first left better and made better time there. but the front tire changer clearly has the advantage of getting a jump on the action. overall he did a good job IMO!!
maybe a days of thunder approach? one race RG's way, one race KA's way.
16th was good, there was room for improvment, but some changes take a while. Those crew guys are working their asses off. RG expects perfection cuz he feels he is giving his best.
My feeling is RG expects the guys to work as hard as he is.
Look at the video again. The rear tire changer arrived after the front changer on the right side and had the tire off first. The rear tire changer arrived after the front tire changer on the left and pulled the tire twice before the car was off the ground. Give the guy a break. He was faster then the front tire changer.
I started this forum with a question over 24 hrs. ago and still no "inside dope" only the same guys and gals speculating on the reason for the results. All I get is crew problems, RG is hard to work for, RG is the boss. Come on somebody must be close enough to know if RGM has the tech support and man power to relate the set up to the track and be able to make adjustments as the track changes. Every week RG is relagated to the back of the pack this week he had a great finish. Sooooooo is it communication or engineering or both. Even Tony S. Mr. bad guy in his early years still had to relate to the CC so adjustmants could be made. Knowlege on set-up is most important. As you have said RG is smarter than Chad K. maybe he needs someone smarter than Chad.:)
Gee will I get nail holes in my palms over this.............
We'd all like some inside information, that's why we're here. I'd personally like to know more about the business aspects of running a Cup team, Off-road team, Dakar Program, shock building, and other various ventures Robby is involved in. But some things are going to be divulged to us on a need to know basis. This is indeed one of the best run driver fan sites, with constant updates, pictures, videos, etc. I am impressed and happy with the progress of PlanetRobby. Hopefully at some point in the future we can have a Q & A session with some team members so that we can get more of our questions answered.
