Started out great then adjustments that didn't seem to work but turned out to be a broken rear end gear. Then he broke an axle. Once it was repaired car was great again. By then it was too late though. Just more bad luck because of mechanical problems.
I don't know man. I remember reading here that the only way to measure a good race was where the #7 finished in relation to the MWR cars. And the #00 was 12th, the #55 20th and #47 was 11th!

So this has to be a pretty bad weekend! No one can pound their chest and scream AT LEAST WE BEAT THAT POS!!!!

I'm pretty certain we'll hear something about "at least we beat that punk Speed!"
34th.Bummer......
im sure "robbys way" had no plans for a gear/axle problem
Thank goodness for "Start and Park" teams or Robby would have finished 38th or 39th tonight.
I know this is a small victory but when Rob came back out on the track, it allowed him to gain a few points on Speed who looked like he was on his way to a top 20 run.

I know - 34th is crappy and it seemed like this car was destined for crappiness in Chicagoland, but as far as the top 35 goes, it's nice to have that breathing room. When Speed qualified second, I thought for sure he was going to knock off about100 points this weekend.
concrete pit roads are not favorable to rear end gears or the driveline components in general......robby leaves pit road in a conservative manner to save the drive train..........one thing that doesnt help is when all the pit crews put down VHT traction treatment...like they use in drag racing for the start line..............they put it down for foot traction........on the one stop the gear malfunctioned and it wasnt 100 percent broken.........rob went out and thought that the adjustment was wrong cause the car was tight........on the next stop because of how the gear was working it broke the rear axle.........the everything was replaced and the car was fastagain.....just many laps down.....the gear is supplied by a reputable vendor.....just bad luck.........i am going to church now........that should help.........
The stats argue against your last statement. http://www.racing-reference.info/driver?id=gordoro01

Robby is a 25th place cup driver which puts him right on par with being average. Flashes of brilliance yes but better than average...no!
The old Hee Haw song keeps coming to mind... "If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all..."
hee haw? Albert King just rolled over in his grave.
If I remember Robby has had broken rear ends in the past. Could it be a financial thing, where he runs the same rear end more then the other teams or where they don't get torn down and inspected often enough?
possibly,
