2009 Daytona 400 Race Weekend Discussion

Join in right here and discuss all the weekend action for the 2009 Daytona 400. Both practices are on Thursday, July 2nd. First practice is from 4:00 - 5:20 pm/et, TV-SPEED. Happy Hour 'Final' practice is from 6:35 - 8:00pm/et, TV-SPEED.Qualifying is on Friday, July 3rd, at 4:10pm, LIVE on SPEED.This is an impound race.Race Coverage of the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2009.TV: TNT at 8:00 pm/et; pre-race show at 6:30 pm/et; green flag approx 8:16pm/et.Post your thoughts here or join us in live raceday chat.

I think they did a good job on the restarts. I was afraid they would get a little crazy at the end. Looking forward to seeing it in action tomorrow.

it should avoid that boring 100 lap segment of single file racing....usually from lap 50- 150

going to be very problematic if we do the ride in the back program...by the time we enter our stall...most of the guys around Robby will be leaving....not good....

Dude, Im there with you. I was pissed when i got there and the trailer wasn't. I had about 100.00 that I was going to drop on merchandise. It almost feels like this whole race weekend is second rate. I came to the 500 earlier in the year and it was great, but for some reason, everything seems scaled back. I know its not the 500, but it seems even more scaled back than regular races at Atlanta or Charlotte.

It was the same at Loudon last week. I knew RG's trailer wasn't there, but there was probably only half as many trailers all together. And the vendor displays by the SPEED stage were really skimpy too - Sprint, AAA, Coke, Nationwide, and I think Skoal were about all there was. A couple real small displays, but not much to keep you busy waiting for the race.

Sign of the times, for sure.

The souviner trailer is in Charlotte for restocking and refurbishing. Robby himself has taken over the trailer from the previous company. It will be in Joliett. There are alot of new items available.....check it out......the on-line store has a ton of stuff.....check it out........The Jim Beam Late model die-cast is awesome,Kid Rock T shirts are out of this world........

Seems like every week lately there has been a different reason WHY the souvy trailer isn't at the race! WE were told last week in Loudon that it would be at Daytona and the Joliett the following week!! Something more is going on here!!!

If Robby does his usual Ride-Around-the-Tail-End, he will have no problems getting in & out of the pits as long as his crew gives him decent pit stop times. It's all about being in the right lane at the right time. Robby has a good car that sucks up real well, so he can go when he wants to. The double file restarts will be a twist, several cautions will waive tonight. Just hope Robby can keep the fenders clean and avoid trouble, if so he'll have a good points night...and could grab a win...ask Brad Keselowski!
