i'm sure i'll catch shit for this, but seems like another terrible weekend for robby! it just doesn't make sense that you can be soo bad each weekend off the trailer other than those random instances that he was fast at a couple tracks. the track sucks too but you'd think that robby could be faster than 38th in practice and qualifying wherever he winds up. Something needs to change with the cars, the cc, robby, or something else but he hasn't done a whole lot lately(know he was in the wreck that one race, but he still was in the back to begin with).

hopefully the team catches on to something tomorrow and gets it good for the race!
From Dustin Long's column
# Robby Gordon on his search for sponsorship in light of Jim Beam leaving after this season: "It's about results. How do I say it? Our off-road program is funded well because we win races. We've got to put results on the board with our stock car team, so we've challenged all our personnel to build better cars and to build better stuff that we can compete against these good teams. We brought one of our new cars here this weekend, which is something we built in three weeks. We have to do it. The problem is, if we don't do it and we don't put results on the board, we're going to have a hard time finding sponsors.''
ouch o'rama
Robby knows whats at stake. Hopefully the new stuff can start giving the team better finishes. Need a good practice tomorrow and dont wreck the car.
All this worry is for naught. Once Robby wins Homestead, the sponsorship issues will be resolved.
Following Robby in the last few weeks, it appears he unloads slow, practices near the 30-40 range, they make some huge changes, After the race starts and he runs a few laps, Robby comes over the radio with "Very, very , very ,very loose." They make a tire pressure adjustment and go down 2 -4 rounds on the track bar. He does better running in somewhere between 21-30 place. They start gaining positions on long green flag runs (even as high as leading), then get lapped during green flag pit stops. If everything goes well, they get the "Lucky Dog" and finish between 20-30, if they have any issues they get lapped again and end up between 30-39 (Mainly because atleast 4-5 cars are start & parks). About sums it up!
And we all managed to live to tell about it.
I'm glad the guys are hard at work making things better so I can worry about what my next favorite whiskey will be.
Blah blah blah squak squak squak . We all know how this season has gone so far.,and my 40wpm crew chiefing isn't going to change the world.Rome wasn't built in a day and if you want it done right you gota do it your self. Thease things take time. Don't count you chickens till they're hatched.Don't cry wolf. And for the last time there is no sex in the champange room.
LOL......He'll still make 4 or 500Grand, & race on Live TV this week.... Top 25 will work........ You Negative types need to Save The Drama For your Mama!!
I think Zoom is on the right side. Definately not a negative type. After all he has real Twister Skeels. My take is like his. If you can see a pattern then there must be a common failure point. I would unload the car and tell the CC assume its really really really loose OK. Have him take the big swing and run 30 laps of practice. When Kirk says your running the same time as the leader.. Park it, cover it and leave it alone till Sunday. That way he is at least 3 steps ahead.
Im with ya 7gason7 we all talk about this every week "why so little practice laps"?. In think part of it is damage control. motor/car. RG always runs the out side and bites the wall from time to time ...so no need to wreck the car before the race, or blow up lap 100 while leading.
P.s I don't want to talk for Zoom but I think he's a realists. not negative. it is what it is.
