Said he lost it late in the race and spun it up into the wall. The car didn't look bad after the spin and looked like both ride side tires were flat. I think he went back out but came back in before the restart. I am guessing something let loose on the car forcing them to come back in and fix for 40 laps before going back out. We have to wait for the post race report.
transmission issues before he spun
Bungee corded to keep it in 4th gear earlier in the race. May have come out of gear or broke causing the spin, regardless, no 4th gear after the spin. They went to the garage and swapped transmissions.

Thanks TOG...

When he came back out that car could stay up with Hamlin and ahead of Bush and Harvick for quiet a number of laps. Looks like he could be a high finisher on the Intermediate tracks next year. I hope that he hires back DR or a crew chief of similar ability next year.
Why is it that Robby and Stremme get 5 lap penalties for a crash at Pocono while Montoya and Tony do not get any penalties for thier actions on the track?

Something other than money, sponsorship and the names JPM and Tony would appreicated.

As far as the NASCAR season is concerned, it was one to forget in my book.
I agree, I think the chase should allow the teams to throw away their worst finish at the conclusion of the 10 races and average the top 9. That way, the teams can go all out for the win every week without having to worry about potentially getting a DNF one of those races.
Because the RG/Stremme incident was durring a caution, not green flag racing. Look at what RG got away with under green at the Glen in the NW race with Logano.
I would think the penalty would still be equal. There are pro's and con's to both.

1.) Major issue under caution is the fact that the driver might now be totally aware and that there may be safety workers on the track.

2.) Major issues under green is that it affects the race (caution/other drivers may get involved) and that they drivers are traveling at much greater speeds.

I think NASCAR made a major mistake on both rulings this weekend with rough driving...but it is well known that NASCAR doesn't like Robby...and Robby probably deserves some of it after what he did in Montreal.
Let's roll man, I'm done with the NASCAR, let's go. (Pineapple-Express)
