This was obviously a disapointment with Robby and the i have no idea what was up with the 04. But rather then trashing everyone else that is as mad as you, just think of what you can be thankful for. I havent told anyone this on hear but i am a Type 1 Diabetic, and i have to do 4-5 blood glucose tests a day and give my self insulin shots. And Im thankful everyday for all the medical equipment that allows me to live a normal life. Getting to the point there is more to life then racing, we all hoped for a win or a top 5 but it just didnt happen, on to next week where Robby has also won.
I can only guess what happened at the end.
Burton was in 16th with Robby right behind.
Rob must have gotten together w/ the 31 while passing him into turn 11.
Martin, who was 26th on the TNT crawl just before the wreck, must have plowed into the mess...
He is running better most weeks in general so the good finish will come sooner or later. Michigan was a good indicator of where he is and a top 15 is not out of the question sunday.
Everybody is brassed off with this result but it is only a sport and we should enjoy that not bash each other and get the blood pressure sky high!
I too am very disappointed in the end result today, HOWEVER, I am also proud of the way this Team ran until the end! Great car and damn good strategy for the most part!! One lap cost us dearly! Oh well, it is a part of racing and something that we ROBBY GORDON FANS will accept and move on with! I am moving on! I don't know about some of you others though!! Thanks TOG for everything you do here every week, all year long!!!!! It is NOT lost on MOST of us! On to Loudon with my head held high!!!!!
When Rob wrecked, I hollerd - no profanties - just a sarcastic "That's great!" My 10-month-old son looked at me like I had yelled at him so I immediately had to pick him up and tell him that he had done nothing wrong.
One of my friends at church has a seven-year-old who is battling brain tumor. The kid is a big Tony Stewart fan and has hung out with Tony and his team in Atlanta and Darlington. I'm sure the father would trade all of Tony's wins for a healthy child.
Having said that, seeing Rob lose all those spots was a little nauseating. Given where he was, we lost about 60 points so we have to make it up somewhere. Last week I thought Rob made up for the 50-point penalty. Now he has to make up for this - Maybe Nascar will give him a reduction a la Carl Long.
Great race until the end for RG.. got some bad luck right before his last pit. It is what it is. We could all be armchair racers and talk about woulda, coulda, shouldas.. but at the end of the day Rob is the boss and the driver and what he says goes. He lead some laps and was competative all day. Sure he's not happy with the results.. but on to next week. I'm going to continue to support Robby and can't wait to see what New Hampshire brings!!
