nothing that happend today was robbys fault. we were runing a statagy race all day, same as the 9 and 14. we just got a turn of bad luck. shure we should have pitted 1 lap sooner, but if it stayed green we may have ran out of gas. we were running our race it just didnt work. on to new hampshire where we have won!
{breath} exhale ,ohmmmm. Lets learn something from this and look forward....Lesson learned?....maybe too many already known . Yet all in all its road racing dumb luck or no luck.
I was glad to see him running better but just so upset over today. If I'm this bad I can't begin to think how Robby and his guys must feel. One day his bad luck has to turn around! Keep your head up Robby.
You're exactly right...take every "this sucks" comment on here today and bottle them up inside one person and you've got Robby Gordon. Chin up Robby...because when you do when a race, it will be the sweetest victory of anyone ever.
@Dave Simpson, I'd like to meet you buddy. We have the same stories. I was an Ernie guy and when he retired I switched loyalties to Robby. Actually it started when Robby drove the 28 at Talladega after Ernie's tragedy at Michigan. Didn't know that part about him buying Ernie's stuff.
About today, I'm sure my neighbors were wondering who the lunatic was screaming "pit with Tony, pit with Tony" at the top of his lungs before "THE" caution. The mistake that was made was allowing for enough fuel to carry them through a green-white-checker finish. Yes it did end that way but what Robby and Kirk did not allow for were the parade of caution laps that preceded it. They should have taken their 5 points and pitted the lap after Tony.
To the naysayers I say Robby had the car and the driver to win this race. And I also predict he will have a car capable of winning Watkins Glen. If you're on this site you know Robby does not quit.
