Charlotte, NC (September 9, 2009) – Thousands of fans will ascend on the tiny town of Rossburg, Ohio (population 234), and countless others will gather around televisions around the country to witness something magical – The Prelude to the Dream. This race is an annual charity event hosted by Tony Stewart, which draws some of the greatest drivers in the world. This year’s race honors four entities that help America’s injured and fallen heroes, and Operation Homefront happens to be one of those charities benefiting from tonight’s race. Operation Homefront is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency assistance and morale to U.S. Troops and their families. Given that this charity is close to Robby Gordon and Jim Beam, he will pilot the No. 7 Operation Homefront / Jim Beam dirt late model stock car at tonight’s charity event.


Robby Gordon returns to Eldora Speedway after posting an impressive 2nd place finish in last year’s Prelude to the Dream. Long considered one of the most talented drivers in the world, Gordon proved that he can drive anything at anytime. “I have always said that he was one of the most naturally talented drivers we ever raced against as far as car control. It took him about five laps, and he looked like he had grown up racing on dirt tracks,” commented Tony Stewart about Gordon’s performance last year at the Prelude. “Given that it was my first time in a real dirt car racing, running second to Tony was a bit surprising.
