Following a tough weekend in Martinsville, Robby Gordon and the Jim Beam team are ready to make their return to Talladega Superspeedway where Gordon finished 8th in last year’s fall event.
Robby’s Remarks – “I always look forward to racing at Talladega,” said Gordon. “The races there are all about strategy and making sure you’re in the right place at the right time. There are a lot of things that can happen at superspeedways that are out of your control, but I’ve been lucky enough to make it through most of the ‘big ones.’ Hopefully that luck continues, and we can translate that into a great finish for Jim Beam this weekend.”
Past Talladega Performances – Talladega Superspeedway has been good to Robby Gordon over the years. The driver of the No. 7 Jim Beam Camry has made 17 starts at the 2.66-mile tri-oval since 1993 and has led more than 50 laps. In nearly 30% of his races at the superspeedway, Gordon has recorded a finish in the top-ten, earning his best finish of fifth in the spring of 2004. In the spring race Talladega Superspeedway earlier this year, Gordon had just begun his charge to the front of the field when he was involved in a multi-car pile-up in the closing laps of the event. The incident resulted in a 29th place finish for the Jim Beam team.
New Associate Sponsor - Robby Gordon Motorsports would like to welcome Coburn Supply Company as an associate sponsor of the No.7 this weekend in Talladega. Coburn Supply Company has been recognized for many years as a leader in the wholesale distribution of quality plumbing products.
Scheduled Appearances - Robby Gordon will be joined by special guest, Paul Menard, for an autograph session at the RGM Merchandise Trailer on Sunday morning, November 1st. The duo will make their appearance at 8:30 AM to sign autographs for fans.
