And for the people that didn't watch the race just because Robby wasn't in it, you missed an awesome championship battle today. Put a great cap on a great season of racing. The actual racing this year was worth it, from Daytona all the way to Homestead. I know everyone doesn't like Jimmie Johnson, but they've got it going on over there and they earned their 5th straight championship today.

Dakar will be here before you know it, and then it'll be time for Daytona again!

I agree its was a awesome season of racing, Just not in Nascar but in Indy and F1. Cant wait for next year. I am not a Johnson fan by any means but he earned it this year for sure.

I don't like the point system that the 48 team has mastered. If he is such a great driver, why does he need the handicap points he gets through the Chase? In his last 5 championships, under the old points system, the one where the person who earns the most points wins, it would have been Johnson, J. Gordon, Johnson, Edwards, and this year would have been Harvick by 285 points.

@David Z, You know this argument of yours has been coming up every year since the first Chase and it is totally pointless. And it's gotten to be downright boring recently. Dude....... If there wasn't a points reset for the top 12 and next year probably 15 drivers then everyone would be racing differently during those first 26 races. It's a given that Jimmie Johnson is going to be good enough to make the Chase so while many of the teams are fighting to get in the top 12 he is testing during some of the races. Some of the other top teams do it too and they don't care if they give up some points during the regular season if their "testing" during those early races gives them an edge in the Chase.

Your post kind of makes it sound like Harvick should be the champion. Here is how I saw what happened this year. Kevin Harvick raced every single race like it was his last race on earth and when he got to the Chase he didn't have many tricks left. The 11 and the 48 teams were able to pop a few bunnies out of their butts and ended up in a better position before the last race.

I think Kevin Harvick sealed his fate for the 2011 Daytona 500 by destroying Kyle Busch's car. I am definitely not a Busch fan, but one thing about the guy that is for sure. If you screw with him he will just hit you harder when it's his turn. His turn will come at Daytona so don't pick Harvick for your NASCAR fantasy team.

I see David's point. Yes, I understand Brian France will never get rid of his baby.But Na$crap is on the decline (started before money got tight) Between Na$craps manipulation of the broadcast teams,selective camera shots,selective rule inforcement,ect, the one other thing that follows the time line of the decline is the 'Chase'.
Chad Knaus is 'the'master of the 'Chase' point system. 10 races,12guys and revisiting most of the same tracks.Every duplicate track,Chad tests,JJ does as he's told.Done deal.As long as Chad and JJ are teamed together,Chad and JJ will be the Champion.
Insanity is doing the exact thing over and over and expecting a different result.

How'd Conway do in the race? I saw he ran out of fuel at the end but was curious if he kept up with the pack.

Car was set up for Robby. It was loose all around the corners. KC didn't like how the brakes felt. They locked up too quick. Was -3, but one of them was because of "too fast entering" finally lost it towards the end and spun, but did not hurt the car too bad (similar to RGs spin in PHX). Was the only car -3 at the end and 31st was -20+ down so the gas shortage did not hurt his final position. KC did what he had too, stayed in the top 35 in points and did not kill the car.
