Robby Gordon Martinsville Preview

Charlotte, NC (March 25, 2010) – The No. 7 Warner Music Nashville / Blake Shelton Camry speeds into Martinsville Speedway this weekend with high hopes after recording a season-best finish of 22nd at Bristol Motor Speedway last week. After an unlucky start to the 2010 season, the team looks forward to the challenge of recording another strong finish at the 0.526-mile short track to obtain a spot within the top-35 Sprint Cup Series owners’ points.

Robby’s Thoughts – “Martinsville Speedway is different from any other track on the Sprint Cup circuit,” commented Gordon. “Its tight corners and flat banking present a whole different set of challenges from every other short track that we visit. Not only is it a tough track on the driver, but it’s also hard on equipment. I’m confident in my team’s ability, and I’m sure that they built the Warner Music Nashville / Blake Shelton Toyota Camry to the challenges of Martinsville.”

Im pretty sure this is wrong but nascar.com has the 90 in and the 09 out, anyone got an explanation or is it an error?
When Robby is racing in other series, a hired driver will take over. No official commitment but pretty much. And BAM will sponsor races Robby doesnt already have one
that they did.
Oh I understand.... you took it the wrong way.. I just think it would of been good a confidence booster for all of us to qualify in on time.
I think the confusion between the 90 and the 09 is that the 90 is higher than the 09 in owners points, but the 09 gets in as a 2009 Race Winning Team and should start 36th. Robby should end up starting 37th.
Yes, that is correct. Keep forgetting that about the #09 winning in 2009
NASCAR.com says Robby starts 38th. Is that because the #26 team (transferred from McMurray) also won a race last season?
FYI - Owners Points can be shaken up a good bit sunday. All of these positions are mathematically able to change in one race. Robby could go as high as 25th and as low as 38th. Here's the on-track finish results that would need to happen for Robby to overtake, all these would be reduced by a position if Robby leads a lap and the others do not:

25 George Gillett Jr. 19 483 (Needs to beat by 40 positions)
26 Tony Stewart 39 452 (needs to beat by 36 positions)
27 John Henry 6 436 (needs to beat by 31 positions)
28 Richard Childress 78 428 (needs to beat by 28 positions)
29 Kevin Buckler 71 428 (needs to beat by 28 positions)
30 Roger Penske 12 424 (needs to beat by 27 positions)
31 Tad Geschickter 47 413 (needs to beat by 23 positions)
32 Doug Yates 38 412 (needs to beat by 23 positions)
33 Roger Penske 77 392 (Needs to beat by 16 positions)
34 Bob Jenkins 34 374 (needs to beat by 7 positions)
35 Doug Yates 37 355 (needs to beat by 4 positions)
36 Robby Gordon 7 346
37 Bill Jenkins 26 343 (has to beat us by 3 positions)
38 Tommy Baldwin 36 307 (has to beat us by 14 positions)
If that happens I'll be drunk for a week.
I could finally break out that very dust-covered bottle of Jim Beam that I've been saving for Victory Lane for the past 5 years. I'm guessing the dust will still be there on Monday.
snort the dust before the race....just a thought
I think it almost time to start the pre-race festivities!!!
