Robby Gordon Martinsville Preview

Charlotte, NC (March 25, 2010) – The No. 7 Warner Music Nashville / Blake Shelton Camry speeds into Martinsville Speedway this weekend with high hopes after recording a season-best finish of 22nd at Bristol Motor Speedway last week. After an unlucky start to the 2010 season, the team looks forward to the challenge of recording another strong finish at the 0.526-mile short track to obtain a spot within the top-35 Sprint Cup Series owners’ points.

Robby’s Thoughts – “Martinsville Speedway is different from any other track on the Sprint Cup circuit,” commented Gordon. “Its tight corners and flat banking present a whole different set of challenges from every other short track that we visit. Not only is it a tough track on the driver, but it’s also hard on equipment. I’m confident in my team’s ability, and I’m sure that they built the Warner Music Nashville / Blake Shelton Toyota Camry to the challenges of Martinsville.”

Just got home from the track. Robby's pit stall was RIGHT in front of me ! He and his crew worked really hard today. I think his pit crew worked harder than anyone else's today. It gets tiring that the media doesn't seem to think that single-car teams matter. They have to work at least twice as hard as multi-car teams. It was so encouraging to see Robby and his guys working so hard to have a good finish today. I just wish it had done for for his points position.

True. Now that I think of it, it was just good to get to watch Robby all day. Tks to the media, we don't see much of him unless he is having mechanical problem. I think he drove a pretty flawless race. He was off to a good start until Kenseth blocked him on pit road early. I liked the view of his pit stall, but it was the absolute worst spot. I can see why they gave it to him. They really screwed up Martinsville's pit road when they reconfigured it.

Did not get to see the race on tv, not that I ever really watch the race on tv. Raceview, pit command and scanner worked great for me at work. I thought the communication between the spotter (who was it?), Larry and Robby were very good today. I am looking forward to Phoenix and have already started to pack my bags mentally!
