What a bummer. i'm suprised it doesn't happen more.
NASCAR plans to take engines after Michigan: NASCAR will confiscate at least 18 Sprint Cup engines following this weekend to run on the dynamometers at their technical center back in Concord, N.C. The engines of the #46 and 66 cars that failed to qualify for the Carfax 400 were taken by officials on Friday. "They want to see where everyone stands in comparison," said Tony Furr, crew chief of the #46 car. Another motor man was told by an official that it would be "the largest lot of engines" NASCAR has ever tested and they expected to be "dynoing engines until after Bristol."(Fox Sports)(8-14-2010)

Oh Boy.
It would be REALLY interesting to see all the numbers.
Look for RGM to have one of their engines taken , as will Joe Nemechek. They are the only TRIAD cup teams, and nascar will take at least 2 engines from every engine builder, if possible.
NASCAR looking to see why Rob and Front Row Joe have an advantage over the Hendrick teams?
Nascar is taking 18 motors after the race. The process is pointless if they dont take motors from each engine builder. RGM & Nemechek are the only TRIADS in the field, so its pretty much a given that 1 from RGM & 1 from Nemechek will be taken.
or they just take both of Robby's motors.
