Charlotte, NC (June 16, 2010) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will turn right for the first time of the 2010 season this weekend at Infineon Raceway. Gordon, who has long been known as NASCAR’s resident road course ace, will return to his home state with the familiar Monster Energy colors on the hood of the No. 7 Toyota Camry. Gordon won the 2003 race at Infineon Raceway and has contended for the win at the 1.99-mile road course on several occasions since that trip to victory lane.

Robby’s Remarks – “I love racing at Infineon Raceway,” said Gordon. “The road course stops are clearly some of my favorite on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit, but the race at Infineon is especially important to me. I grew up in California and I still have a lot of family and friends near the Sonoma area, so it’s a lot of fun to go there and catch up with everyone and have them all watch me race. We’ve come very close to winning this race in the years since my first trip to victory lane at Infineon [Raceway] and I know that we’re capable of putting it together this year. We just need to stay focused on our goal, make the right strategy calls, and hopefully find a little good luck.”
Expertise at Infineon – Since 1997, Robby Gordon has made 12 starts at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. The driver of the No. 7 Monster Energy Toyota Camry has led more than 150 circuits around the 1.99-mile course and won the 2003 event en route to sweeping both road course events. In 2007, it looked as if Gordon was on his way back to victory lane, but after starting from the front row and leading 48 laps Gordon ran out of fuel and finished in the 16th position.
