2011 Dakar

Since TOG poasted the teaser, what is the latest with the Dakar effort this year? 

 

What will the vehicle be and how many?

 

How much longer will the rally remain in south america where the 2wd system has been exposed as a severe disadvatage vs the african terrain?

 

will we see a newly deisgned dakar vehicle with 4wd?

 

since you posted it and all the wheels started turning.

That teaser is for the 2011 Dakar Rally, not a teaser for RGM's 2011 Dakar effort. That info will come at a later date.

Well, what we do know so far is he is wearing hummer body. Robby did say he is building a brand new and the bottom peice is done when he was in Vegas.

(dakar is increasing the restrictor plate on the gas engines to 34mm), anyone knows the size of last years restrictor plate?.
Is Robby going to run a 6 speed tranny or stay with a 5 speed?

Are you sure its 34mm, I believe last year was 34mm

that's what i was thinking they used last year, yes dakar website posted this info last month a couple of weeks before robby did his trip to argentina, were dakar officials down there setting up the track for the dakar 2011 about the same time that robby was down there?

If they run the two wheel drive again this year, they better buy a few more shovels!!!!!!!! i cant wait until he builds a 4X4
