In TOG's defense, this question -- why doesn't RG buy a car/chassis/setup -- comes up pretty often, and it is a pretty silly question if you think about it. People act like the setups for cars are available and all a team has to do is pony up the money for it and they would be good to go.

Let's assume just for a second that RGM's chassis were similar enough to those of Gibbs or Penske or whoever to use the same information: WHY THE HELL WOULD A SUCCESSFUL TEAM SHARE WITH A COMPETITOR? So RG could go out and beat them with their own stuff? Think! Joe Gibbs and Roger Penske don't need Robby's money. They want wins and championships, and selling their information is not going to help them achieve their goals.

If it were that simple, don't you think GEM would have just bought set-ups from Roush?
