Just watched it on DVR. Got the Speed logo right in the center of the screen next to DW head. Everytime it showed up, within seconds they would switch to another camera.

“We’ve been struggling a little bit with the car today, just haven’t been able to throw a lot of tires and stuff like that at it. Robby (Gordon) is coming tomorrow. I feel we have a pretty good baseline to start on. We’ll really start to work on it in those practice sessions and he’s going to race the SPEED Energy Dodge on Sunday. Ultimately, we were just trying to get a feel out of it today. Hopefully, we can make some big gains tomorrow.”

what does he mean when he says throw alot of tires at it and stuff? that they couldn't use alot of tires to practice on?

I'd guess they did all of practice on one set, maybe even Q'd on the same set.You are allow'd 5 set's for practice.It all in the strategy.The guys at the top of the leaded board are using up there allotment (appr $2500 a set) over the course of practice and qualifying.
A strategy (if your locked in) is to use one set of tires, that way adjustments have a bench mark,eliminating the illusion of improvement caused by sticker tires.
