Run a couple practice laps with the restrictor plate removed. Show the other teams some speed so they will be more inclined to run with you during the race..........that would be something to see............I wonder how much speed would pick up with no restrictor plate. Maybe not much difference on the top end.

I think NASCAR said they were going to wait until after the 500. Probably want to see how he finishes. Wouldn't want him to fall too far behind to start the season.

while that might be fun, not a good plan. The RP engines are build to turn 9000-9200rpm with the shortage of air.The whole rear gear thing.
