Actual real time weather station data from the track....

Time for Max to bring out the rc again lol . Him vs  Kyle Busch . Max using the SPEED Slash and KB using the Traxxas 1/16 th scale that they did for him . I say turn them loose down the front stretch left turn on to pit road then another left back to the front stretch . They could even have pit stops to change battery packs lol

Calling the race until 7pm was not a good idea. It will be ready to race by 5pm.

Ive studied the radar and weather patterns today, and my final expert prediction is rain will be done by 2:30

Weather may be clear by 5, but 7 is much better for TV coverage. It would be sketchy for many of us to bail from work early to see a 5:00 race, but 7 is no problem.

Anybody know if they plan on airing the race tonight on tv?

I know the start is not like 7:pm but it does not say anywhere that i can find if they will AIR it.

Speed now says that it will be live on FOX

That will surprise me... they will have to preempt House and Alcatraz... although the Daytona 500 on Mondays primetime could be HUGE!!!!!

Think TV, that puts the race in prime time back east.

I'm sure they also pushed it back to pick up more west coast viewers also

My heart goes out to all the families that made it to their first Daytona 500 and are headed home with nothing but musty laundry. Also I've been in the rain while camped at the Pocono infield (lotsa times) while it is not for those who are prone to piss bagging because their mood is being soured by all the crappy weather and unable to live in the moment it can be a friggen blast. For all those that are sticking it out in the infield, have enough beer and what not I'm sure it must be a BLAST. So my point I guess is that all the wholesome family units that had to go home empty handed, with an empty heart, and salted memories you have my sympathy, esp. the kids. For all those still partying in the infield.........................well it can't be that great if I aint there.

Maybe those families could head over to Disney, cash in an IRA and have a good time.Daytona when there is not an event at the speedway is a dead town> imo

Right NOW they better light off those dryers and get to it, this looks like the only "dry" window till tonight then more rain..
