2013 Daytona Duels/500 Race Discussion

Even though Robby Gordon will not be racing at Daytona, here is a thread for those who still WANT to talk about Nascar and their first event of the year. Duel races are on Thursday ( Feb 21st ) and the race is on Sunday ( Feb 24th ) . Here is a snapshot of the backup car from 2012, many didn't know it was a black.

Missed a really good race MK . So far NASCAR is 2 for 2 this year at bringing me back to the fan I once was . 1st the new Gen6 cars and now a short track race on the backstretch . KEEP IT NASCAR ! I might come back . Lol

I Tivo'd it. Sloppy racing.Alot of torn up race cars from both nights.K&N race,Gene Price teams had the field cover'd.The 24 car driven by Cameron Hayley was crew'd by NorthWest guys, Jeff (CC), Jason Jefferson,Robert and Rodney.Good on Craig , Mike and Aldie.

Thanks, for the link, I know its all about SST but I sure miss RG at Daytona, remember the excitement of RG makeing the race last year with M. Waltrip crashing out and the corporate princess having her issues. If I recall I remember RG offering someone around $50 K or $100K for them letting him in line (could be wrong on that amount)
My how things have changed at RGM in a year...oh well, change happens

RG on the scanner would have offered the 21 team 50K to fall back since the 21 had Q'd on time but was sitting in a transfer spot. The pack shuffled and the 7 made it in on it's own.

Daytona announced next years Duel races will run at night on FOX. Love for RGM to race Daytona next year promoting the Super Truck Series and Speed Energy. Most believe NASCAR is finally coming back. The changes made this year will be so much better. Finally no Top 35 rule.

IMO RG went thru the hardest times in Cup running his own team. Pretty big accomplishment. It's finally getting changes way over due.

Rumor has it, nascrap will have a hard time fielding 43 cars in the next few races, we'll see...
