  9. How can we follow the rally? You're already at the right place.
  10. When does the rally begin? Stage 1 begins on Jan 5th.

With a 4, 6, or 8 we had between 4 - 5.5 MPG. But, who am I ?

racing is racing,that what a racing engine gets (mine also)

thought i remember RG saying on long specials they could get up to 20 MPG to make the distance on fuel, but they may have been before the extra side tanks

The administrative checks for all the competitors will take place above a renowned casino. Nearby the race and assistance vehicles will be gone over with a fine-tooth comb as part of the technical checks. The South-American competitors will be the first to turn up on the morning of 2nd January.

Can't wait to start seeing the pictures from scrutineering, the photographers will be going nuts over the HST!

R.G.: “You will soon realize how good we are. I have a new project for this Dakar. I was supposed to race one of the Hummers I sold to Yazid Al Rajhi (Saudi Arabian driver who bought Gordon's two Hummers). But he is injured and has decided to stop his Dakar project. This put me in a delicate situation with quite a bit of pressure. So, I began building a new car for the Dakar. I drove the car for the first time in November. It runs good; it is stable and very fast. We have done over 1,500kms of testing. The parts we have used are similar to those we have used in the past, so it should be okay. Beyond that, this car is completely different. It sits lower than a Mini. It is lighter and smaller…And we will also have air-conditioning, which is a real comfort. We should be in a position to win. In any case, I am coming to win. I have no worries. At the end of the day, our business is to build race cars.”

Yes. I'm glad RG said this.

The HST was going to debut in Dakar 2015, but as RG stated, he was put in a situation where he had to move forward with 2014. I can't even begin to stress the amount of work the team did in a short amount of time to make it to Dakar this year with a new vehicle.

All I can say is, enjoy the ride!

I know the Mini's will be good, but still...
