The prologue of the Rally Dakar-2016 contested over 11 kilometers in Buenos Aires province was interrupted after an accident between a car racing and spectators.
Argentine police have confirmed an accident without giving further details. The organization has yet provided any additional information on possible casualties or victims.
The car involved in the accident is the N.360, a Chinese crew led by pilot Guo Meiling. The release took place at 6 km prologue in a long straight line to the output of a large bend.
The front of the car and the cap is damaged and a large device is visible instead. The race director, Etienne Lavigne, went immediately to the scene by helicopter.
The Dakar-2016 lunged Saturday in Buenos Aires, and will arrive in two weeks in Rosario (Argentina).
The vehicles that finished will start in those positions, the vehicles that haven't will start how they were numbered.
The water crossing was interesting. Sainz lost his hood (bonnet? Cap?) during it. Probably not latched right.
