January 11th, Rest Day Riyadh
January 12th-17th, the Rally Raid continues from Riyadh through the South Eastern area of Saudi Arabia before heading to West, finishing in Qiddiya.

Thanks for all the updates and links Mike. The time difference makes it hard to get into the Dakar groove. The terrain and the changes have made it a difficult Dakar for some competitors.

As the bikes start their day I will cross my fingers that Andrew Short doesn't crash again. I hope he has a successful run today. I guess I'll find out in the morning since it is end of day here, which makes it hard to follow this Dakar. The terrain seems to be pretty challenging for the competitors and that seems to be good.
