Still has a better win percentage than POS (710 starts, 4 wins).
And that's the measure of greatness and success in Cup!!!!! A better winning percentage than Michael Waltrip!!!!

Did you notice that the stats show that Michael Waltrip has a better top five and top ten finishing percentage than Robby? Did you notice that MW has a better average starting and average finishing position for his career than RG has? And if you question the importance of that, then you shouldn't be discussing Cup.

I'm no fan of Waltrip but I'm pretty tired of the mind numbing shit that is spewed around here. Yeah great. RG has a better winning percentage than MW at this point. That and 1.50 will get you a cup of coffee....

RGs success in any NASCAR series, is measured against the field, not against Michael Waltrip. And while I don't question RGs talent, the absolute truth is that results aren't there in Cup to distinguish him from Michael Waltrip, Ward Burton, Elliot Sadler, and Jeremy Mayfield at this point. And in the end, coulda/woulda/shoulda means nothing. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. RG needs results in Cup, for oh so many reasons right now.
who is pos
Thats what I always say? Why do so many people here and on other boards just compare Robby withe POS ? Who cares if he beats him or if he out qualifies him. Why is POS the focus ?
Yes, he pissed us of a couple of times over the past few years (really pissed us off in 2005) but why the hell keep going on about him. He is shit and so are his cars so beating him is no big deal it should just be as standard.
Robby has had issues with loads of drivers over the years. Let it go.
I have to think its viewed as some sort of per race triumph. RG finished 28th, BUT WALTRIP FINISHED 43RD! SO IT'S A GOOD DAY FOR RGM!!!!

How anyone can view that as a victory of any sort, baffles me. How can a group of people argue that one person (Michael Waltrip) is the worst driver to hold a Cup ride, and then take solace in their favorite beating him. WELL DUH FUCK?!?! SHOULDN'T HE BEAT HIM EVERY WEEK???? I'm almost beside myself, actually wanting to see Waltrip string together a couple good races, for no reason other than to watch the meltdowns here.
It's the "we suck less" syndrome.
Yup. On the plus side, Watkins Glen was NOT a monumental failure! RG beat MW! And isn't that all that matter????
Hee hee hee. I never tire of hearing that!
Me either... that one never gets old!
Yep, focusing on POS does set the bar awfully low.
What this shows to me though (and I've always thought it) is that 2006 was this teams best year. 16 lead lap finishes, and his best average qualifying and finishing position (since 2005 only counts the races he made into his average Q). I'm actually surporised he didn't lead more laps that year after impressive runs at Atlanta and Texas (back when fuel mileage was the RGM curse). And it pains me to remember how good 2003 was with RCR...big whoop on the two wins, but 16th in points and if I remember through some 25 races he was fighting for a top ten points finish before what some have called his Baja induced fall slump :)
Baja induced fall slump.... Ha ha...
I swear, the guy seems to run so well in the hot summer months, and then when fall hits things slow down...I like to imagine he's so amped to get back to Baja that he's got sand on his mind and not asphalt.
