NASCAR announced on Wednesday that it has placed Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards on probation for the next six races in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of their on-track incident Saturday night at the conclusion of the race at Bristol.

It would be interesting to know if points were ever taken away in the past for the same type of incident.

If you guys remember in the begining of the season nascar said they would let the drivers express more raw emotion without punishing them. Sounds like these 2 got a slap on the wrist. Thats fine with me, I'd rather see that kind of action on track, then a bunch of PC sponsor spokesmen with no personality. These are racecar drivers, they are supposed to make every attempt at winning races. I'm glad to see theres a couple who aren't afraid to catch the attention of nascar while doing so. Oh, & they happen to be 2 title contenders, coincedence?
Note to team owners: stop trying to polish the edge off your drivers. You polish them too much,& you end up with spokesman. Spokesmen don't win races, or titles.
It'll be insteresting to see where NASCAR draw the line. S'pose because it was post-race that no damage was done... but it was as funny as hell, though!
this is what makes racing exciting.people are going to tune it next week to see the feud.kind of like a soap opera.this is what put nascar on the map back in 1975.
it was good tv. My favorite of the night had to be clint bowyer sating POS was the worst driver in nascar. couldn't be said better.
Would you want points to be taken from Robby should he lose his composure?? The penalty fit the crime.
Kyle Bush and Carl Edwards are clearly the best drivers on the track today. At this point the championship is between two. Enough said!
