So what does this mean for Robby...first, has to qualify on time next week unless it's rained out. If lineup determined by points Robby would be in automatic.
Robby will be in a tight race next week with the #77, #00 and #84 for the Final 2 guarantee spots, 2 will be in and 2 will be out.
How can Robby get back in:
35th beat the #00 by 4 spots and finish ahead of the #77
34th beat the #84 by 7 spots and finish ahead of the #77 and ahead of #00 by 4 spots
33rd beat #66 18 spots & finish ahead #77, & ahead #00 by 4 spots, & ahead of #84 by 7 spots
32nd beat #55 21 spots and all of the above
31st beat #22 by 27 spots and all of the above
30th beat #41 by 41 spots and all of the above
29th - Can't in one race even if he won and the #01 finished last
How can he drop to 37th, get beat the #77 by 3 spots
How can he drop to 38th, he can't in one race even if Patrick won and Robby finished last.
I was hoping the last race was going to be the wake up call. The thing is (as you konw) there is not going to be quick fix. which ocviously is not good because we need one!!! Now it's back to the old days of watching him try to make it in on time, and he isn't the greatest qualifier. I will need some xanax come Qday!
Positive is it won't take much to get a guarantee spot, bad is it won't take much to stay out either and keep falling. The next few races will be huge...
His driving ability is WAY better than this, but his people and management skills suck. As long as he owns RGM his driving skills will not matter until his people and management skills show vast improvement.
Honestly, it is far beyond getting upset by anymore. We all knew this day (outside 35th) was coming. Thank god it is football season because the combination of boring races and Robby striving to finish a race in the top 30 has made football a much better option on Sundays.
what a joke RGM is? RG has to be one of the worst owners (Foyt / Waltrip, but at least they could win races) and most over-rated drivers out there. he has to be leading nascar in 40th+ finishes this year. The great road course ringer is what really got him in this hole which he won't climb out of. Hopefully GEM will give him some food stamps for RGM since he has run it into the ground.
Provide he doens't DNQ, Robby Gordon will finish the season dead last among drivers that start every race (Hornish will pass him) and behind four drivers that didn't start every race.
