While I am in Ensenada for today’s Baja 500, the No. 7 team was in Pocono preparing for this weekend’s Cup race. I want to personally thank Ted Musgrave for his help yesterday practicing and attempting to qualify our Cup car as well as our team members for their hard work. Despite missing the race, Ted and team made a valiant effort to get the No. 7 into the race.

I believe that all successful companies go through times like this – they have highs and lows. I remember Penske Racing missing the Indy 500 with three cars in 1995 and Paul Tracy just last month. We will recover from this just like Penske did, and we will be stronger because of it.

While I am disappointed that we will not participate in tomorrow’s race at Pocono Raceway, I want to thank our employees for their hard work and our sponsors for their continued support. What remains through all of this is Robby Gordon Motorsports’ commitment to the success of our diversified racing programs.

This is why Robby is my favorite driver, whether he wins or not. I will be a fan forever.
That and perhaps a complete change of heart ? Some don't seem to handle disappointment very well .
I pulled up jayski to see the results of the race (and if the team made it in) on my blackberry in line at the Otay border Sunday coming back from Baja and saw a link entitled "Statement from Robby Gordon"
I thought:
1. oh shit, what did Robby Gordon do know that he has to ask forgiveness for
2. oh no, did someone get hurt in baja with or because of Team Gordon

-- His situation is what it is, and you got to do what you got to do. An under funded and under sponsored team against gazillionaire teams with a lot of resources is going to have a hard time competing. It is what it is.

Maybe its just me, but the release isn't for the RG fans cuz we know its a hard-knock life for teams like RGs. Maybe its just a motivational at-a-boy for the team back in NC or a sponsor thing. To me, it was about 5 minutes of worrying as my crappy blackberry loaded up the non-news news release.

anyway, had a great time in baja watching at a steep rocky silt nasty hill close enough from civilization that it wasn't too hard to get too if you knew where to find it but isolated enough so we only had to share it with maybe 6 other people.

baja rocks.
Fan for life here - as long as robby is happy, I'm happy. Gas On!
personally, I rather enjoyed having the whole day Sunday to get stuff done. Our boy will be fine. Live for the moment. enjoy what your doing right now. Do your planning but remember to take the time to have fun when you are there. Can anyone tell I've been on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon? Lots of time to be thinking about what's really important.

Speaking of important, be sure to check the video on my page...that'll get your summer off on the right foot. Speaking of foot, there's lots of toes on the video...
wait a minute....I've been banboozled. Where'd the girls of summer video go? TOG? Bang zoom.....
Go Robby! He's going to draw a bead on that 35th spot. I think is was Baja Bob that once said something like "Robby is fast.....but it is when he sees the dust from the guy right in front him that he turns super fast." I'd rather be in 36th lookin' in for 35th with Robby than most any other NASCAR driver. Put piece of wood in the rear-quarter for Michigan....we'll be rim riding! (just kidding).
Robby is always gracious, even in very disappointing circumstances. No wonder he has so many fans. He really deserves better than he gets. Joan
