Just wondering as no other energy drinks are sponsoring trucks but the drivers have the hats on when on the podium. Was just thinking about the fact that Robby always said there would be no restrictions on sponsors allowed. Any thoughts or knowledge as to why no other energy drinks mainly have became part of this series. Especially since the points leader is sponsored by Rockstar.

The only thing I saw was BJ comment that Monster wouldn't back him because the series was an unkown quantity. They didn't want to drop the big bucks without knowing what they were buying. Meaning they want numbers. How many butts in seats and how many fans on TV.

Rob Mac is sponsored by Rockstar personally so he wears the Rockstar hat no matter what he is racing. If he won a bicycle race and was being interviewed he would have the hat on.

The ratings came in for the first SST show out of Phoenix and it got an estimated 600K viewers... about on par with any "established" TORC or LOORRS event. Not bad for a first showing. Perhaps after a few more shows SST can be a "measured quantity" making participating in said events a justifiable marketing expense. If SST can continue to crank out exciting racing product like last week investment in said series would be in my opinion a no-brainer.

Any idea what the average supercross race draws on TV? I would think that would be a good benchmark.

I'm not sure I'd bench mark the SuperCross series. That series is over 35years old and a different fan base.IMO.

That is a good point, I was just looking for something successful to compare it to. IMO there is nothing else off-road related I would want to compare it to. Doesn't matter, can't really compare it while it's still in it's first year anyway.

The only info I could find quickly was the Georgia Dome even from 2012 (live on SPEED) averaged 630,000 & peaked at 738,000.

I would think there are a lot of companies sitting back to see were this goes and if it is worth throwing there dollars at. IMO the ones that are sitting back are going to come up the losers as this series has much more potential in growth as it will be able to hit more masses and demographics due to the design of the series.

Yes they are allowed.

Robby himself has stated the more the merrier .

Speaking of attendance, any rough idea for how many people were in San Diego?

a few thousand's minus 1,. i couldn't go, but i will, on the 18th, haha,.

maybe this will help, not sure how it compares to the pst venues
