Some quotes from the Kingsport Times News from and interview with Jeff Burton.

"The whole single car argument is romantic, but the reality of the situation is that our sport is much better off with 10 or 11 4 car team owners."

"It (multicar teams) provides security for the sponsors and it enables you to really economize and do things less expensively. The sponsors are more protected by being part of a four car or three car organization than they are by being part a single-car organization."

"What used to be a half million-doller buisness is now a $100 million buisness. We can't ask sponsors to spend the money that they're spending and not even know they are in the race."

"It is way better off for the sport if we had 43 teams that knew they were going to be in the race than to have 50 teams trying to make the race- we don't need 50 teams, we need 43."

I thought this might interesting considering RGM is a single car entity. What's everyone's take? Is Jeff Burton full of it or does he have a point?

jeff burton is just nascars butt kisser
In this age of the multi-car teams there are about 5-6 cars that will win 90% of the races. Last year Jimmie, Carl and Kyle combined for 24 wins.

How is this supposed to be good for the sport?
I think Burton is misunderstood on the subject I mean he may have an opion but I really believe that he is just an Ass-Clown for RCR....Besides who in thier right mind could ever take a guy that sounds just like Forrest Gump serious.....
STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES
so i guess if a new company wants to start a nascar team they have to start with four cars four sponsors and enough people to operate that many cars.sounds like a big investment.
so you will never have any new blood in the sport.
BURTON NASCAR TOOL.
Screw him and his Duke basketball..long live the risk takers!!!
Burton is just pissed because when Robby ran for childress in the 31 he got more respect and did a better job overall.Jealously is a bitch aint it.
Jeff is undoubtedly a talented driver. He is lucky he is driving for a well funded four car race team such as RCR. That business model appears to be working well, but bearing in mind the sponsor on his car is not on all of the other RCR team cars each weekend as well, Jeff is really a single car team operating within a bigger team himself. How does Jeff's sponsor benefit when Harvick wins and he doesn't?
Robby's business approach to his motor racing is pioneering. He was among the first owners to secure multiple primary sponsors and to divide up the season into packages of specific race events to suit his sponsors. Where he leads many other teams have now followed. Data sharing aside, the one car team still has a dynamic that resonates with sponsors, fans and even fellow competitors.
What a tool.
Well said. I was a Jeff Burton fan back when he was with Stavola Brothers racing, a single car team that is no longer around. I think Jeff forgot where he came from. First he drives for a Chevy team, then he starts spouting this crap.
Its certainly within the realm of possibilites that Jeff Burton is entitled to say what he thinks is true. It is also possible that as a driver with quite a bit of experience he has some basis of knowledge to formulate his thoughts and opionions. I dont really understand how folks can throw out personal evaluations of folks they dont even know just because of an interview he gave. Perhaps he has a valid point or points from his perspective which really have nothing to do with his performance as a driver. When you post a personal attack or untoward statement about someone, whatever point you make is lessended considerably. Keep in mind he never mentioned a single driver or a single team so to get offended by his words baffles me.
oh, I thought Burton was a moron long before he said this.
Eric, I am just asking because I don't know... what is hillbilly hair? (I may need to know that if I go to Charlotte this year)
