Canadian Sponsor

I am not sure why Robby doesnt come to Canada and try to get sponsors. They would work for Michigan, any of the races up near Canada, even Bristol which I know has alot of Canadians at the race. This could cover a few of the races at least .. anything is worth a try..

NASCAR's Canadian exposure is so small that it's not worth the $$. You'd only see it when a Canadian company is trying to make a big push into the US marketplace, and they'd probably downplay the Canadian connection in that push anyway.

TSN (Canada's answer to ESPN) is the only station that runs NASCAR up here. They have yet to break 1 million viewers for a race. NASCAR also gets knocked off the main network for any NHL or Canadian Football League game - and occasionally tape delayed soccer. Canadian companies could buy a year's worth of advertising during NASCAR airings for the price of a race on the hood of a cup car.

Actually you are wrong speed also runs nascar races..besides that fact every bit helps. Canadian companies sponsor Indy races and other types of racing and if someone like RIM got involved it is a world wide company that is based in Canada so there are options...

So does FOX and ABC. The point is not enough people watch the sport for it to make sense to a Canadian company trying to sell in the Canadian market.

Pay $100K to sponsor a cup car for a race where you'll be lucky if 200,000 canadian race viewers see your logo, or pay $100K to run commericals on a Canadian national broadcaster for a week that has millions of viewers.

What do you think is the better option?

Also keep in mind that while Canadian viewership of nascar had been growing by big percentages, it's still less than 500,000 viewers per average race. Furthermore, Canadian companies have been leaving racing far faster than they are coming in.

I agree but I think there needs to be a great team that they can go to that will bring in the sponsorship and Robby would be one of those teams. I stated below maybe if Robby looked at getting a Canadian Driver then the sponsorship would be there for him. I think the opportunities are up here I just think it needs to be done in a proper flow. I also think that JV might be his own worst enemy but I am with you with Partrick that made me very sad when he was not supported by Canadian companies, he was well liked and would have got the people looking at what he was selling...

Ya, I've never undertsood why the Molson/Labatts/JIm Balsillie's of the Canadian world haven't stepped up to back one of the Canadian drivers attempts to make it in NASCAR. NASCAR gets great television ratings up here and we are all very passionate about our own athletes. But TOG's right if nobody stepped up to back JV's attempt, it's not going to happen. Saying that I really hope Andrew Ranger gets a chance at a ride in one of the series one day. He really deserves it.

I dont know I think JV is his own worst enemy. I was actually more surpised about Patrick Carpentier I thought someone would step up and help his plight. I think if Robby got a second driver that was Canadian like Patrick then you would see some of the Canadian sponsors getting involved .. I think there are alot of options up here and just wonder if no one has really pushed to see what can be done...

I still think JV was his own worst enemy, he never really committed to it. I am more surprise by Patrick C then JV to be honest...one can still hope...maybe no one has really pushed to get the sponsorship....

Bring in Andrew Ranger and have the car sponsored by the Canadian Tourism Bureau (or whatever they call it..), plus his current Tide and Walmart sponsors.

Proctor and Gamble could be a good sponsor (if they are not already an official NASCAR sponsor). They have a large plant near where I live and are expanding their product lines (detergent in a bag, fabric softener bars). All fans have to do laundry.

I agree I think there are many opportunities up here, Reseach in Motion is another that is world wide I believe so they would be ok if they could get in...not sure I sprint would let them...lol. Especially if he just goes for the races close to canada .. michigan watkins glen there are a few he could use Canadian sponsorship at...

I agree I just wonder if anyone has really pushed to find sponsorship up here...Nascar is huge in Canada right now...and getting bigger every year, especially with Indy / Cart not what it used to be I think that the possibilities for Nascar may be here now that wasn't years ago because of the Indy cars ..
