Our day started at 6:30am. The team got ready to work. Half of the team stayed back and prepped the hummers. The other half headed out to the port to pick up the rest of the equipment and our assistance trucks(f2 and f3).
Back at home base, they prepped the hummers and started to go through the checklist, making sure everything is 100%. At the same time Robby, Nasser and their co-drivers went through the hummers, making sure all the proper adjustments were made.
Meanwhile, the second group set off for a two hour drive to the ports, just to receive bad news. The F3 is still waiting on paperwork to go through customs and the f2 is still in the boat! Team Manager Kyle Robbins and Robby got on the phone, immediately, to solve the problem. After waiting for 4 hours for one piece of paper to arrive, they finally released the f3. Once that was squared away, we headed to the warehouse for yet another two hour drive back to load it with the spare parts we may need for the race. We also received some good news, if the boat is moved in tomorrow morning, we will be able to unload the f2. This was only made possible by the ASO and the government getting involved. If not, the boat would have been there till January 4th or 5th. If that occurred, we would have been in stage 4 or 5. For now we will cross our fingers and hope everything goes well tomorrow.

One slow boat .
I am sure they shipped the second truck later than the first because of the deal with Nasser was done so late.
Well at least the boat isn't broke down out in the middle of the friggin ocean!!
What ever happened with that disaster anyway?
The Ship that took the Support Vehicles to the Dakar in Africa that one year had a rudder issue that left it stranded in the middle of the ocean. They had to call a ocean going tug boat to pull it the rest of the way and missed the start of the race for RGM.
wow..how time flies.....forgot all about that.
Then to top it off that was the year they candeled the rade wasn't it.
Never heard about the boat deal, hope they get everything worked out in time this year. Need everything to go as planned or better......Got my fingers crossed but the damn things are starting to hurt any word on the 2nd support truck????
@Carl, that's what my memory is.
Mine to.
I think it's time for RGM to buy it's own cargo ship or plane.
buy cases of speed and it might be possible
Ordered 2 more yesterday.
Got the last mixed case of 12 oz cans.
Had to add the 1/24 freightligner diecast.
