...on the Nascar hub? He is working with the folks at Indy to push the start time earlier and could possibly offer 20 million to the race driver that could win both in one day. Do you think that would be some added incentive for RG to give it a go again? I hope this happens, it would be great for both leagues to have some back and forth. You could potentially see RG Smoke, John Andretti, Danica, Franchitti and maybe even Paul Tracy give it a shot.

Personally I don't think the start time matters as much as the sponsorship dollars and resouces that are in short supply when it comes to Robby. He'd do it if he could and probably would have tried this year but could not get the deal done. As for the others, Andretti, Danica, Franchitti and Tracy would need a ride and need to qualify on speed at Charlotte and that is no small task. The only other one with a realistic chance of making both is Smoke and he has too much at stake with his sponsors and a points chase in Cup to risk injury at Indy. I'd like to see someone try the double again but I would hope that a contender does it rather than someone with no chance of winner either race attempts it. The only person out there today that could do it today is Montoya or Smoke.

You are correct. Put him in a Ganassi car right now for any IRL event and he instantly among the favorites to win the race, maybe even the favorite. And EGR has proven to have quality cars in Cup the last two years. Maybe not on par with HMS, but still not too shabby.

JPM has no interest in doing Indy again. Been there done that took home to trophy according to Jaun earlier this year.

Yeah, when this came up on another racing board and we talked about it, it was made clear that Juan couldn't possibly care less about Indy. And why should he? He went there as a one off and destroyed the gomers.

You wish. No way is Penske going to give RG an IndyCar ride, no matter the purse. Unless for some reason IndyCar tries to race 800 miles across Baja....

$20 mil? There's your funding for a competitive, full-season team in Nascar. No more of this top 35 stuff or so we say.
