...on the Nascar hub? He is working with the folks at Indy to push the start time earlier and could possibly offer 20 million to the race driver that could win both in one day. Do you think that would be some added incentive for RG to give it a go again? I hope this happens, it would be great for both leagues to have some back and forth. You could potentially see RG Smoke, John Andretti, Danica, Franchitti and maybe even Paul Tracy give it a shot.

Don't sell Stewart short. His mentor, AJ, jammed his fat ass into the tub for several years at the end!
If the start is earlier...REGARDLESS of the 20 million...I think Robby runs the double again....

Now...with that on the table...Robby could win Indy...as for charlotte.well that would be tough...but hey...we finished 3rd with a rain shortened event...anything could happen!
Nice Idea , Who Knows , Would Be A Good Thing !
Danica.................. really?

can we say 40 mil in tv ratings?
Why does it take someone NOT associated with the IRL or IMS to finally do something smart for that series or speedway?

And really, I think you'd be more likely to see guys like Sam Hornish, Scott Speed and AJ Allmendinger be the ones to actually make a go of it.
Good post, Gray. Steward and Hornish would have a realistic chance to be competitive at both tracks.
that's the reason the IRL is struggling so much and the reason Nascar needs to listen to Bruton more. Guys like Bruton and Humpy Wheeler put excitement into the sport!

Actually, give credit to Bernard here and Bruton for not being able to keep his mouth shut.
No point in announcing it this far ahead of this years races when it can't be done for this season. Wait for the hype to build going into Memorial Day weekend then announce it on Carb Day. Of course Bruton has to have as much control as possible though.
I did see that the next day. Kudos to him for finally having a decent idea. They have to do whatever they can to attract some of the NASCAR talent to their big race. Because that is what this is all about, getting Stewart, JPM, AJ Allmendinger, Scott Speed, Hornish, RG, etc. interested in the 500 again,
Don't count out Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson fi $20 million was on the line!
Yeah, it would totally be beyond HMS ability, to field two competitive cars in a spec series where 80% of the field barely has the money to actually get their cars on the grid.

HMS could put both of them in the top six. Easy. And that means a chance to win. Its the modern Indy500, not a competitive race with top talent from around the world.
They buy everything else. Why would Indy be any different? If Hendrick were to enter a car at Indy, I think Tony Stewart would be the man behind the wheel, and I know that bastard is a legit threat to take the $20 million.
