Talk about wasting money why did they do a mock-up if they werent gonna run it .
I'm guessing the Penske guys did most of the work.
looks a lot like what they run in the canadian tire series up here in Canada.
Good. maybe they can recycle that mesh grille. maybe shoulda' stayed and canned that young CEO, SRT president, whatever he his...yea go for the smaller series and all the rich guys...stay away from the bread and butter of your market. jmo wich don't mean a BM. and i know that Dodge guy, president of racing had little to do with them staying..but coulda' swayed em' the right way..maybe. The Captain...one step ahead.
You mean Mr. unfair advanatge
Decisions weren't finalized - needed to forge ahead until then.
Well, he wasn't kidding. I always liked the look of the Dodges and am sad it will not be in NASCAR.
But one of the previous posters does make a good point of having all of Rob's cars under the same umbrella.
Yes, he will be back in a stock car - at some point.
Dodge couldn't find anyone that wanted to work with them that could run up front. Rather than go with a 2nd or 3rd rate team they pulled the plug. Makes sense to me.
The reason none of the upper teams wanted to dance with them probably had a lot to do with the money and support they were offering. I know I keep bringing up what happened to Robby at Daytona this year, but Dodge's lack of engine help after he raced his way into the 500 was noticed by everyone in the garage. Then right after that Penske said he was moving to Ford. The big factor had to be that they were not getting the support from Dodge that they required. So why would anyone one else want to team with them? Sure it is cool to have 4 brands of cars in the field, but there were only 2 Dodges. Honestly, I don't think Dodge will be missed very much.
Robby has quite a bit of Dodge inventory, engine and body panel wise. I hope he finds a home for those parts if he hasn't done it already.
When GM pulled the plug on Pontiac and it left NASCAR, the brand could still run in the Cup races for 2yrs(?). So I think that RG may be able to use what he has next year, if he wants to. Sometimes the old is better then the new.
