When did he prove that he could? He has started at the track 17 times, and has zero top ten finishes. Eight starts in the 600 with no top 15s?

Robby has bigger things to worry about in the 600 mile race, car reliability is a big one. It takes a lot more than patience to win.

on a side note didn't rob almost get a top 5 in the 2005 Coke 600? before a problem?

Really, a long shot for a top ten with the #7 team. If they have a perfect race and there is a shitload of attrition, then yeah...more likely a top 15 in that scenario.
