i love this!!! nasacrap said they were going to let them race and take the gloves off and thats what they did.
I like that they are letting drivers police themselves. Carl will be extra careful now, since he knows payback can come at any time, and I won't be surprised to see Brad gunning for him.

I do think Carl should have been penalized for driving the wrong way down pit road, however. That was a clear violation, completely separate from drivers "taking the gloves off".
I agree 100%. It's what NASCAR wanted, and now they have it. Should be interesting with the short tracks coming up.

I am sure Carl will get probation and points penalties for the incident and the pit road backward trip.

Bottom line is as a driver myself I probably would have done the same thing...and I'm pretty sure Robby would have too.
also after watching the replay carl clearly tried to wreck the 12 for 2 laps before he actually did. why didn't keselowski try to drop behind him and what was his spotter saying? I know the 12 was racing for position, but weren't the cars a bit spread out? I know I would try to stay away from my rival when I had a solid run going. Either way, it's racing. :)
No points and No $ fines.

Finally some rational moves. NASCAR is more concerned about the car getting airborn at a mile and a half track.
So if you Start and Park, we are going to penalize you to the point where you might not be able to race the following week. However, if you try to kill someone without real intent, you can race next weekend. Yeah, that makes sense.

No consistancy what so ever when it comes to NASAR. They make up the rules over time and do what they want, when they want. The series is officially a joke. They protect their "boys" anyone outside that circle should prepare to be treated very differently.
hmm, good point,

maybe the crashed cars should be inspected also tyo make it all even???
There will also be another "Come to Jesus" meeting sometime before Bristol with both 12 & 99 drivers and Owners in attendance.
I just keep wondering how differently Hitler Helton and the NA$CAR elite would have reacted if it had been Robby and not Carl?
At least a five race suspension and a massive fine. It is entirely possibly they might have suspended him for the year, citing previous offenses.
Robby's thoughts, from Twitter:

Just heard the news. I wonder what would of happened to me in that situation? Hmmm someone playing favorites? :)

and (in response to Harvick)...

RobbyGordon
Me too! And the cost of a substitute driver at Pocono RT @KevinHarvick: i'm thinkging about asking for a refund for all of my penalties!!!!

and (commenting on Jeff Gluck's thought)...

Hahaha! RT @jeff_gluck: The call would have been the same regardless of the drivers, in my opinion. I really, truly believe that. #NASCAR
