"Friends"

First off I must say that plate racing has to be the most nail biting racing there is and it's my favorite. I like road racing, but there is too much strategy in it which takes away from the drivers ability. After listening to J Mac on Sirius today with Dave Moody what he said hit home. He said that he couldn't have done it without the other drivers help. I wasn't watching him but did hear Biffle say he was proud to help bump him. So what makes another driver "help" another driver. It sure looked like Robby got "hung out" a bunch of times and it almost looked like drivers would start to go and the swerve back? Who are Robbys "friends" on the track? Did I see something that wasn't there? After this week Daytona has become a favorite track and I don't think I'm alone feeling this way. I actually got an email from non-commited fan that said "we were jumping up and down yelling at the tv GO JUNIOR!" I hope with the new rules we have more endings like that(with Robby busting out to the front!). I'm still a bit cranked up over this race.

Being a one man team makes it difficult. Being a multi-car team doesn't guarantee help at the end i.e. Reuteman both in the Duel and the 500. Mama always said if you want to have friends you have to be friendly. You don't often read of Robby being involved socially with other NASCAR drivers. Not saying he doesn't, you just don't hear about it.

A lot of drivers were "hung out". The roughness of the track and the new rules package caused cars to move around a lot more than in the past. It was all a matter of timing and luck at the end. The new rules package also slowed down the pack in the back from moving up like in past plate races. The spoiler could change things up again.
