While I have been a NASCAR RG Fan for quite a while it has been a while since I even watched a whole NASCAR race. I have missed watching RG run ANY race. All these offroad races are not televised, and living in FL there is not an opportunity to watch him run. Needless to say that leaves me frustrated.
On the other hand the SST series being televised has left me with some anticipation of what is to come.
I would love to be able to see RG run more frequently and hate to see his talents to drive about anything, brought down to just offroad.
Hopefully Speed Energy continues to grow and the SST boys can make this thing go without a lot of RG hands on. I would love to see all these projects be successful and free RG up to get in some cars and not just offroad... Can't wait to see what the future holds!
Oh and why not go ahead and talk to the boys at Daytona about making a SST Track around Bike Week? They already have all the dirt for a bike track in the infield, so they may want to rework and get another event out of the effort to bring all that stuff in.
Just thoughts...

Well I agree with you up to the point you say "brought down to just offroad".
I am sorry you "we"don't get to see more OFFROAD but it is by far better racing, and was always at least equal to, what nascar has become and you are hearing this from someone that used to be accussed of being way to fanatic about nascar.
I have though been a Robby fan since long before he went to nascar and you are reigh, he has tons of talent no matter what he drives. Who knows, maybe he would still be more into nascar if nascar ever shoewd him the respect he actually deserved there.
Just my opinion.
understood. I wasn't raised where offroad was popular and don't live in an area where it is popular. I think if I got to see more, I would like it. I like most racing when I can watch it. I think the SST will be a step in the right direction. I am thinking about driving to Atlanta to see the show there. Maybe the SST will drum up more regional or localized offroad events. We have tons of short tracks and dirt tracks for Saturday night racing, how about some of the short tracks that have gone out of business reinventing themselves with changing the inside of the track to a truck dirt track?
Think it would fly???
I would agree with you both!!
If RG could do some restrictor and road courses in NASCAR that would be B@D @$$, but I would take one more Indy 500 attempt if it meant no more NASCAR.
being born in Indiana, I would gladly make a run up to see that!!! (as long as it was a quality ride)
i think at this point in life our racing hero's interest would be better served with a full roll cage around him,im not sure what channels you have in florida but there is off road racing on tv almost every night in eastern canada one channel is oln but there was a race on sat night in red bud michigan rick johnson was the winner but i dont remember what channel. but if you can wait just a bit longer when the sst gate drops in april you'll forget all about nascar, most exciting thing you'll ever watch.if were really lucky rg will make enough money so he can buy nascar and change it back to what it used to be.
Nothing is better than watching an 800+ hp truck, romping and stomping down a 5 mile dirt rode with 4 foot woops... engine roaring, suspension working.... sighhh. I miss it :(
are you saying sst could be a replacement for male enhancement drugs
I would like to see Robby do more road racing. I've really gotten into the Continental Tire Challenge Series. Jack Roush Jr races there. Two classes race at the same time with over 80 cars. It's not huge, but it is televised and the announcers were saying that some manufacturers were trying to build a "racing catalog" where you could buy a car and race parts and race it for the whole season for about $80,000. Robby spends that much on shocks for Dakar.
If Robby still has some ties to Dodge, I'd like to see him run a SRT Charger or Challenger in the GS class or a Dart in the ST class. Dodge has no presence in that series.
I do some work for a few Grand Am teams. If you think you can run for $80,000 that would be to maybe bring a car and run at the back and not replace parts etc. You are still looking at $1 Mil to run a decent GrandAm car and run up front to contend and like others have mentioned the return in prize money isn t there yet. I don't know how the merger of GrandAm and American LeMans series will work out. Should be better car count, but unsure on the payout. Since Robby ran for Roush in the early days, I think he could for sure make a run for titles and all that good stuff. Remember though, the road racing series is usually a team thing. Most races use two or more drivers, so you have to drive a car that is a balance of what you and another guy can work with.
I still think once SST gets up and going that maybe RG will get some time to dabble in a few series, just to run some Speed Sponsorship stuff. He could for sure hit the 24 Hr of Daytona and get in a quality ride in a "one off" kind of deal like many Nascar guys do. The key I think is for him to not layout bucks right now. His return on SST should be nice if all goes as planned.
