Gillett-Evernham Motorsports has been in talks with nearly every possible team in the garage area looking to merge including Bill Davis Racing, which is down to a one car, non-sponsored team since Caterpillar is leaving the #22 for Richard Childress Racing. From what I [Pete Pistone] have been able to gather, the report that NASCAR vetoed a GEM-BDR merger and a complete switch to Toyota is false. The stumbling block in all of this is the status of Dodge and Chrysler and the future of the struggling company. If the manufacturer can't live up to its promise of supplying engines and support to GEM, its flagship Cup organization, the team needs to know that and make a move ASAP. But whether Toyota wants to support another team and a possible additional three cars is another question. Regardless, NASCAR has no say in what the teams and manufacturers decide to do

I posted in the other thread a couple of days ago that NASCAR said the story was not as written.
IMO, they don't want the rats jumping ship until it's apparent.

Sorta sounds like the Titanic eh?

DODGE is dead... life support is keeping the body alive but that's about it.
The fact is they need to make a move now because I don't believe Chrysler will be around by 2009!
I hope so I would like to see both Robby and Paul Menard do well next year!
Amen....preach on brother!
It's quite reasonable that FORD could be the last of the 3 left standing.

Just reported on the radio that the GM/CERBERUS talks with the government have broke down.
GM is fine. Dodge will probably be sold to Nissan. As I have said all along. If not, then Cerebus is stuck with it for awhile.
Please start posting sources with these articles. I read that on another site and Im sure the author would enjoy the credit.

Otherwise it seems like your trying to pass this off as your own info...
Pete Pistone....it's right there in the arcticle............
That's the Jayski blurb from this morning.
