Gene nead has left Randy Moss Motorsports

Nead gone from RMM: UPDATE confirmed RMM & Nead part ways: Hearing that Gene Nead has left Randy Moss Motorsports and is no longer crew chief for the #5-Toyota driven by Mike Skinner.(5-24-2010)
UPDATE: A team representative has confirmed that Randy Moss Motorsports and crew chief Gene nead have mutually agreed to part ways. RMM engineer, Stacy Johnson will serve as interim crew chief.(5-24-2010)

Just wanted to let the speculation begin.

RGM is proud to welcome back Gene Nead to the team as a fulltime employee.

Well well well. To my surprise I got a text message on my phone informing me I had a facebook message from the guy we all know as TOG. TOG and I have spoken over the phone many times and I've gotten many facebook messages from him, so I knew it had to be something important. To my shock, it was not good news at all. Now, I would consider TOG a friend, and somewhat of a mentor, so it was hard for me to read.

(I'm going to paraphrase) Sorry to announce but Gene Nead of Randy Moss Motorsports passed away last night at the team meeting. (at this point, I basically start to cry, I was in the middle of a conversation with my friend, and I look at him and go, my pal just told me my idol passed away, this sucks) so I type in N to get the next part.

There will be no funeral, and Gene has been re-incarnated as Robby Gordon's crew chief. At this time, my crying and pending suicide become tears of joy and happiness looking forward to the rest of the 2010 season and Gene Nead at the helm.

Now I must say, I hate facebook for only giving me the depressing part of the message first. Secondly, screw you TOG for almost ruining all my hopes and dreams at the age of 20.

I just want to say that I am the most excited I've been in a long time. Gene is back where he belongs, and if RG is half as excited as I am this team will do amazing things. Gene and RG at Sonoma again (I bet that turns on both guys and girls alike) I just hope RG realizes what a good crew chief he has in Gene and doesn't bash heads again.

I just ask that I be made the president of the Gene Nead fanclub. I'm going to be off the wall for a while now and my interest in Robby and RGM has now hit its peak again. I haven't been this excited since I worked on paint schemes for them and interned there last year. Now that I am on break I have plenty of time to follow the progress Gene and this team will make.
