GM announced privately to its dealers this morning via conference call that it would begin the wind-down process of the HUMMER brand after an exhaustive search to find a buyer was unsuccessful.

According to dealers we spoke with, GM indicated they would soon receive letters containing the announcement and an explanation of the wind-down process.

Earlier this morning, we learned that many senior HUMMER staff members had been reassigned, and the conference call to dealers confirmed that GM does indeed to shut down the HUMMER brand indefinitely.

Robby has stated in many interviews he is well aware of the situation, but will still be ready for Dakar 2011.

The local Hummer dealer closed their doors within days of the original announcement several weeks ago.

Nothing stops Robby from using the Hummer body, but certainly those sponsor dollars are going to need replaced.
I reallllllly hope Chevy runs with the Hx concept. Slap a Chevy grille on it, & call it the Tracker, or better yet Nomad.
As for RG, he's been running a 2004 Silverado @ SCORE races since....well 2004. That being said, he will run the HUMMER until HE sees a better opportunity come along.
IMO, he is working on something that has a factory backed V8. He was taking about mods to what he runs to make it more competitive on the Rally Type stages. We will probably hear something about it as soon as the deal is signed. My guess would be late summer.
