A little late in posting, but some tidbits for those of you suffering NASCAR withdrawal.

While it may not be the best racing series, it does give us track junkies something to watch every weekend. And while I can watch NFL on weekends now without channel surfing, my favorite team isn’t televised where I live so I suffer through watching how the Dolphins will manage to lose another one. So while I’m glad to put an end to another disappointing NASCAR season, I sure miss it when it’s over!

The season finale in Homestead was a bit eerie. Robby wasn’t the only driver without a souvy trailer. It appeared there were only about half of what normally show up. Drivers who had multiple trailers were down to one except for Jr. Yet there were still no lines, no crowd in the trailer area even an hour before the green flag when you typically can’t walk through the herd.

I couldn’t wait to hear how they would announce Robby during driver intros. Would they give kudos for his SCORE championship? Anxiously awaiting the words I wanted to hear… “Driver of the #7 Menard’s Camry…” here it comes… “Matt Crafton!” Laughter filled Robby’s face on the big screen. At least they pointed the camera at the right guy!

The mix up carried further than the driver intros. The lineup printed in the official program had Matt’s name too. No respect.

Robby looked good once he took to the track. It was a blast watching him work his way through the field. And to see him return after the spin was a surprise. I thought by that point of the race he would have packed it up, especially after all the miles he had already put in over the weekend. But after his return, he hung at the front of the pack. Laps down but still kept pace with the front runners.

Great job RG! It ended the season showing considerable improvement and hope for next year. See you in Daytona!

Thanks vak7 for the live report- on to DAKAR
Really...they said Matt Crafton???LOL. If they had announced Robby Gordon they would have spelled his name wrong on the big screen. R-O-B-B-I-E
Not only did they say it, but they had Matt's name in the program! Just plain wrong.
