Nascar screwed the pooch royally calling off the restart because cars who could have pitted didnt and ran out of gas....we would have found out then if the gamble was right...but with them calling it off we then had to pit which made the decision not to pit initially look bad.
Eff em....this isnt run under yellow until everyone has their shoes tied...restart the friggin race
calling it off was the right call . If they had not perhaps there would have been cars running out all over the place and the finish would have been even stupider...more stupid...in any event would have could have should have i cant stand when the conversation goes in that direction ....the only reality is reality. Put a bullit in this.
Maybe NASCAR needs to put a new rule in place for the Super Speedways... Any caution inside of 10 to go requires a pit stop for gas and then the minimum number of laps to the finish is 5. This way the cars can come up to speed before the jockying for position starts.
HEY IT'S A SHOW.........................don't get all caught up in the "race". Racing stoped the day Big Bill told Smokey Yunick to park the race car because he had the first fuel cell. NA$CAR removed the cell and Smokey drove the race car from the track back to the shop with no tank. :-)

Green, white, checkers at plate race is totally pointless. I have always thought this. They spend the first lap getting up to speed and then on the second lap, everyone is so desperate, they start running over each other. I agree with you totally-make it at least 5 laps.

You're not going to avoid every single situation that may or may not occur on the track. And if you spend too much time worrying about them, you'll shoot yourself in the foot doing something different. As long as there are still humans in the sport, there will be decisions that need to be made. As long as more than one person is involved, there's a chance that there will be a difference of opnion. And if there's only one person involved, there's the chance that they may be wrong. You just have to keep diggin' and move on.
vak7 is on the money.
Robby apologized to Doug when he came in,and
you could hear his sincerity.
We all know its Robbys call in the end,the way
he runs things.
Trusting Doug may come with time.
I think the truth is they both realized it was a
call they cant rehash. Too many variables.
But,hey, watching Robby run up front was like
a blast of oxygen.
Ahhh.
Just what everyone needed.
