As Jim Beam is not schedueld to be on the car next week at Bristol, is it time to start back up the discussions to have a fan sponsorship for a race?

A thorough knowlegde of the word facetious should be had before replying...lol.

If everybody here saw eye to eye on everything, it would be a dull place.
RGFan, I do like your opinions most of the time, check your comments from a couple hours ago. Just ease up on the personal bullshit with your Kool aid avatar, your Whoever you are comments and read what I was saying; I think if a team can make the current qual requirements they should race..plain and simple, If RGM puts the planet on his car, sweet, I will be telling everybody! No shame in unpaid ad space, especially when the All Sport Boys cant make the show.;..This is only my opinion...I am really tired of the personal crap though, especially when I tried to be cool with you....
OK, rgfan, you've made your point. However a lot of us thought is was pretty damn cool when RG had Robby'sUpRising.com on the TV panel of one of his "back in black" cars. Now if you don't think that a driver giving props back to the fans that are there, when the sponsors aren't isn't cool. Well in my opinion, you might be drinkin the wrong Kool-Aid my friend....Oh Yeah!
maybe I can talk RG into a planetrobby.com decal on the car at Dover, even if it is a small one.I am going to try!
HELL YES! Thats what I'm talkin about. I know I don't need to explain my position to you TOG. I'm not lookin for any faux sponsorship, not lookin for any thanks either, but it's always cool when you know your driver appriciates you stickin around.
A sponsorship where the team doesnt break even really isnt a sponsorship in my opinion....so I can see a "uprising" type sponsor to be of this breed....IMO
I understand fully what you mean. Fan sponsored cars are a loser deal, all the way around. Allthough, I don't really see any "media vultures" circling around the 7 team. I also don't remember anybody trying to make anything remotely negative out of the RuR decal. Quite frankly, I'm pretty sure jb7 started this as a pre emptive strike to all the "nervous nellys" out there. Some people think the sky is falling, as soon as talk of a "back in black" wknd rolls around. My point is, relax, slowly ease away from the Monster Energy products. They are best enjoyed in moderation.
Oh,& it's WC, as in WildCard. I don't work for, or represent West Coast Customs
Where do I send my $2.00???
Jim beam is only an associate for Bristol, but I have that feeling.......
Yeah, there was like a brazillion names on the car. They were all a few inches in size, but legible....if you were next to the car.
I beg to differ fan, performance is everything. Really man, it's OK. For as much as you oppose the concept behind this thread, your keeping it alive
Can't Garrett, BigZoom or Natron008 make a mock Planet Robby car and we all be happy? I see both sides of the arguement. When Rob ran the Robby Gordon Off-road scheme a couple years ago I wondered if it was for a lack of other sponsorship. But, then again, Off-road is a seperate part of RGM and they do sell items and off-road tires etc.. so that made for good advertising for his other business. Plus, I believe he only did it once. While putting PlanetRobby or robbygordon.com on the car would be good for exposure for the sites, using that spot on the car would probably be better served for a paying customer who has something to sell besides a concept. I am not against having the web site on the driver's suit (as RG already has for robbygordon.com) and potentially for the Planet as the people who would see that would be most likely fans at the track (due to poor TV exposure for Rob) who could associate the site with the deeds of the man. I have faith that the empty race dates for the car will be sold this year. If not, bet he still races that week. Besides, what's to say they haven't been filled already as we don't have a list of the cup sponsors from week to week as we did last year on robbygordon.com. I think Rob gives a shout out to the fans simply by being a member of this site and responding to the weekly Q&A in the future.
