Q: We know Jeff Gordon has a 46-race winless streak because they talk about it on FOX and SPEED every week, and because you guys in the media remind us on a daily basis (I know you’re just doing your job). My question is who among active full-time drivers has the longest winless streak? Thanks!

A: Boy, this is one of those times when you really don’t want to see your name in print. And by the way, after doing some research on this question, I realized that Jeffy’s winless slide is nothing. Here goes:

John Andretti, come on down! You’ve gone 196 races without a win! Remember Martinsville 1999? Yeah, me neither; but that’s when it occurred. And with The King, no less, owning your race car…

Speaking of owners, Robby Gordon, you’re our next lucky dog. For as good a road racer as Robby is supposed to be, he hasn’t beaten the big boys since 2003 at Watkins Glen. That’s 191 races. Bobby Labonte is up next with an (un)impressive skid that dates back 185 races. That’d be Homestead ’03 with JGR.

The other full-timers whose stinky streaks stretch into triple digits are Michael Waltrip (167), Elliott Sadler (160), and Joe Nemechek (142). Other notables: Mark Martin (95), Kevin Harvick (76), and Brian Vickers (70).

And finally, those with zero wins to their credit in their Cup career are led by the fearless Dave Blaney, who has yet to win a points-paying race in 306 starts. Scott Riggs (169) and Reed Sorenson (114) seem to be the only other non-winners that have stretched it past one hundred. Sorry guys.

Wouln't it be great if Robby won before Jeff? What would DW say? I know very little
YES! I actually do believe that this streak will end this year. Just call it a gut feeling or whatever. I believe that Robby is going to pull of a win this year at a track that will suprise us. I Believe RGM has a few tricks up thier sleeve this year.. just waiting to happen.
I'm afraid not, even on Robby's strongest tracks (road courses), the team is prone to making mistakes when it comes to pit strategy, and even if the strategy goes well guys like Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, and Tony Stewart will be up front. It's so hard to beat those guys no matter what track you're on.

Robby should do well on the RP tracks, but again it's so hard to beat the top teams.
answer to your theory of you can't beat the big guys.....

..............Even a Blind Squirel Finds a Nut Once in a While! :)
He only got beat beat by Tony Stewart at he Glen in '05. Beat the rest of the big boys. He had to come from the back because quals were rained out and by the time he got to the front he'd used his car up getting there and he had a Menard time bomb motor !
Really really could have won that day.
Unfortunately qualifying seems to get rained out every year at the Glen.
Haven't heard Robby use that one for a while now!
Yes. I think Robby will get one this year. One of the two road courses. The best road course driver can only not win it so many times before the odds turn and he does.

From the other list I'd like to see Vickers get another too. That Red Bull team is good.
I would love to see a road course win!
Some of those stats a little misleading. Mikey's races are short because he missed so many races in 2007 and same for Joe Nemechek. Robby has won twice since Nemechek has.
Yep, that streak will end this year, & we'll get to cash in one of 3 IOU's from last year. My only hope is that JB (as much as I lover the M-claw) is on the car. It's only fitting for them to get the first win with RGM, for the years of support they've given the team.
He will win at the Glenn but that mite be his 2nd win of the year.
