STAGE 9: SAN MIGUEL DE TUCAMAN > CORDOBA
Connection 259km | Special Stage 593km | Total 852km
COURSE OVERVIEW
Trucks will have pride of place when the rally resumes, only competing in one of the two parts of the special stage, but they will have the rare privilege of setting off first. The stage’s profile with quick tracks will be favourable to specialists of torturous routes. In the other categories, as the distance has been doubled it will also allow for an additional, much more technical section, where, in particular, the drivers will negotiate the bends in the forest. They will have to watch out for trees, given that the rapid assistance trucks won’t have access to the route. The competitors will have to be extremely vigilant over the entire distance, which is, for all except for the bikers, the rally’s longest special stage.

I think it is too bad if Nassar can't finish. He is loud, opinionated, obnoxious. Just the type of personality it takes to make this long race exciting. We all need a bad guy to root against, think Busch brothers. The Buggy kicked some major butt in the sand stages, gotta give the CA builders some props. For all of you who hoped that he would blow up, where is the fun in beating the bad guy because his engine expired? Let's beat him in the desert! I hope he limps back to start tomorrow say ~5hrs down so RG can hammer down and beat him on time for the overall. Much better for Nassar to have driving issues opposed to mechanical in my opinion. If we can't beat him, let him beat himself (tree's, rock's, river's), don't wish for an American powerplant to expire.
I personally never saw Nasser as the villian just a neusance. To me Peterhansel is the villian calling out our man as a cheater. Now I'm looking forward to some down time for the Mini's to bring this into a last stage scramble. ( funny word scramble )
+1
Same goes for Peterhansel, don't want him to break down, would rather him get beat on time by RG or beat himself on driver error. The overall is pretty much a done deal for US, let's see some Stage wins.
you are so right Scott, we need all this to feed off of and make this race exciting

Argentine media report Nasser Al-Attiyah has quit the #Dakar. No servicetruck to help him with his problems.
"And off in the distance you could here TAPS being played ...softly"
wow, I hope someone tapes RG when he hears this, just hope he is intelligent on what he would have to say when interviewed on ths matter. (lol) guess nasser will be the one putting out stickers next year
But he's such an easy target, man!
So, we can't have fun with this? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
