STAGE 9 TRACKING

STAGE 9: SAN MIGUEL DE TUCAMAN > CORDOBA

Connection 259km | Special Stage 593km | Total 852km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Trucks will have pride of place when the rally resumes, only competing in one of the two parts of the special stage, but they will have the rare privilege of setting off first. The stage’s profile with quick tracks will be favourable to specialists of torturous routes. In the other categories, as the distance has been doubled it will also allow for an additional, much more technical section, where, in particular, the drivers will negotiate the bends in the forest. They will have to watch out for trees, given that the rapid assistance trucks won’t have access to the route. The competitors will have to be extremely vigilant over the entire distance, which is, for all except for the bikers, the rally’s longest special stage.

Like I said in the Stg 8 discussion:

Who will take the Hole Shot?
With CHICHERIT starting 3 minutes ahead of TERRANOVA & 6 minutes ahead of RG, it only make sense the remaining 103 drivers should be starting 9 minutes back, as they all had the same finish... I'd pay to see that start, Funnel down from 103 wide to 25 wide in first 1000 yards and throw in a nice sharp right turn at about 1500 yds. My money is on the stuggly.

land rush start? not happening

George - I'd pay to see that too. Haha...but we know that would never happen in Dakar

Lets win some stages, secure some more sponsership and come back fighting next year.

Thought you all might like this vid . It's one of my favs and hopefully it'll help everyone remember why we all love Robby so much .

KEEP KICKING ASS ROBBY WE ARE ALL BEHIND YA !!!!

Bad Ass

The whole thing with the ASO is we all know they aren't a fair organization. RG will drive the hell out of whatever he is in and that is the way it is. RG is by far the most popular there, in almost if not all off-road racing. He is there to put on a show win lose or draw. Just his style. Does he strive to win, of course, if not he is gonna look good losing. The thing with Nassar crying is that is just the way it is going to go. Stupid driving and the ASO covering for him, otherwise they don't have much of a battle for the lead. It was kind of like a Nascar caution for debris, just the way it is. But nevertheless, Robby will finish and if he comes back again, he will drive to win as always. All we can do is support his efforts, however we can.

Whhiit daaee Start toomada we hope dat ddaaee dat will be good foudus and dat daaee uuhh we will have aahhh good drun andaaaeh capaaeesure dah first aaeehh stage win no?

Anyone see NBC's coverage from yesterday? For those of that don't know much about the machine, they showed the mini's controls from the sequential transition, to the navigation & switches. Nice lesson....I noticed SST uses paddles for the tranny, does the Hummer?

@Dave, the HUMMER has a stick.in this footage,it 's what Robby's right hand is slapping

Thanks Mike! Is sequential transmission like a bike? Is this what he has? I've seen him slap it but he was slapping everything when I saw it!!! I find the inside fascinating. The co driver said it was like a plane with the changing of fuel pumps and other redundancies....

yes, sequental no lift to shift (only need the clutch when short shifting)
