STAGE 13 TRACKING

STAGE 13: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > ROSARIO

Connection 519km | Special Stage 180km | Total 699km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Aspiring winners will certainly be those who find the 180km of the day’s special section the most difficult, designed with twisty, undulating routes, faster sandy and rocky sections… leading to significant levels of stress. For most of the others, the 699km to be covered before reaching the podium in Rosario will be a relief. To be enjoyed without moderation…

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

I'm afraid I agree with you on this Kevin, and feel that people have good reason to be upset. Multiple people could have easily been killed, and it was just plain luck that they weren't. While all of us may not exercise the best judgment at times, when the organizers or local officials hand down their judgment, and point out the recklessness behavior that brought this about, it's going to be awfully difficult to disagree with them.

So you can include me among those who feel Robby needs to make a statement. And I expect that he will, given what I've seen of his general willingness in the past to take responsibility and not gloss over his mistakes.

It's one of those qualities of his that has always impressed me, and kept me as a fan.

I have learned not to throw stones when you live in a glass house. Hell I have so many stones I should be a glass salesman.

AMEN....!!

.

Everyone is freaking out...? What were they passing over to the other vehicle..? Looked like they were doing what people sometimes do. Looked like it was mutual. Not to try and throw sugar in the air and tell everyone to dance around with their mouths open until life is as sweet as it can be but.............it was an accident. Wheel to wheel and what happened happened. I get the scope and degree of concern and my heart goes out to all those effected. I understand this was not in any way a part of "the sport". I don't hear anyone crying about the doughnuts Robby Gordon swung around in that night time video...those spectators were close as hell....... and in the "CANDYLAND" world of the U.S.A. if any competitor pulled that stunt with a crowd like that ESPN would be pisbagging from here to the north pole about it. Not one person said anything but if a tire failed and the truck went off like a battling top into those people we would all look like assholes. Including "his fans"...who have been cheering on from the sidelines as Robby Gordon for years (I can hear the talking heads now) has done one reckless thing after another.and so on and so on. My throat is not open for business so don't try and jump down it ...nobody not directly involved feels any worse than I do....it was a terrible accident. Was there not a similar on road encounter with a guy fixing a head lamp for another vehicle from the back of a moving pickup.2 years ago????...do you recall this ?? Attitude was a lot different because there was no "accident". The guy did not fall out of the truck and get run over ...however he could have...fate has a funky sense of humor. Not to sound like an idiot but we used to swim out at this waterfall in my area and there is a highway "The 219". This got you there and back. We would ride 15 people in the back of an F-150 there and back 60 miles an hour hair in the air and not a care in the world. The constables would see us laughing and being ..well....??? idiots???.....Never a word....Nobody ever fell out...I seen a few who should been "thrown out" but nobody ever got hurt because there was never an accident. However there could have been and perhaps should have been a half dozen at least. There is no explaining accidents and they define themselves to the the point beyond definition. If anything the ASO should have airlifted Sheldons' Grand Dad to a bigger city with a more modern ....room. I'm sure there was a chopper around and i'm not getting into that but the room is straight out of one flew over the CooCoos nest......It's terrible it truly is ...accidents suck. There is a highway the "198" folks begged and begged for years and years for a gaurdrail bigger because of a park...big brother did nothing....until yup.............a child got hit now it's 35 miles an hour what an answer.

Hey MM, The headlight replacement, which you are right I totally forgot about, is the perfect example.
Yes we have all done crazystupid shit and it is what it is.

MM THAT IS THE BEST POST YET !!! Everyone is acting like Robby meant this to happen and it's DISQUSTING !!!! It was a simple ACCIDENT no more no less . Thank you for posting that and helping those blaming Robby for this to get their heads out of their a$$e$ .

( do you mind if I post this on RDC , if not you should defiantly do it )

Very true, it seems like there is always a lot of speculation of what Robby should do. I myself am a supporter of anything he does. It was accident. We have all done something similar in the past. Unfortunately some will not let it go, but why all the second guessing when things don't go as planned.

We are all guilty of being over confident even when it's safety 1st, we say just this time nothing is going to happen and of course that is when it happens, yes over confident he was but **** happens and thankfully no fatalities or life threatening injuries. Yes it will be on the conscious and he will do what is right and no he will not be telling what that would be. Yes we may say he is this and that but I assure you most saying it will still be fans. Do I hate him for this no, lesson learned for many that things happen even to best by being over confident. Why have we not heard anything ? Do they need to give us an explanation? NO! maybe when they get back they might release some type of press but for know they have a lot to deal with regarding this situation and the logistics of getting everything back to the States. we all have been guilty at one point of doing stupid things. So lets just let it go

Feel free to do what ever you like.
