Thanks

Here is where I sent my letter on how this race was hijacked by one team in the car category.
Same as a Parade is it not?

bringing 12 cars just to win is pretty pathetic but you can't deny they did run good!

Peterhansel would have never finished the stage with his half dozen puntures without all those teammates. 9 out of the top 12 is quite impressive none-the-less.

you have that right

I think you guys have this all wrong. The Dakar was not hijacked or rigged or anything. Don't be bitter because a manufacture chose this event to spend huge dollars and throw as much effort as every other big manufacture who chose to go big at Dakar. Every year there is the super team or manufacture who choose to out spend & put more entries in the field. Does anyone remember VW a few years ago? From 1997 - 2007 Mitsubishi had won 9 times. Before that it was Citroen, before that Peogeot. These mega teams are very prepared, bring proven tested cars to Dakar. these teams and cars are developed, tested & raced all year. Not just pulled out for one race.

The fact is as long as the manufactures see Dakar as a place to showcase their product and can see a return on their investment, they will continue to spend HUGE amount of money to win.

Would you be butt hurt if RGM got a manufacture deal and was told to build a 4 car super team. Here is $40+ million build a winning org. Get SPH, Sainz & Loab to be the other 3 drivers. Would you be thinking that is unfair?

The fact is Robby had his shot on a mega team, and was asked to come back. He chose to go it alone, as he has with all his other racing ventures. So when he does not win or when another Mega team comes in, just remember this is buisiness and Dakar is Dakar. Until the manufactures don't think Dakar is important the mega teams will continue to win. When the day they pull out we will see small privateer teams winning stages & podiums.

Exactly right...the mega $$ teams will have a whole group of 8-10 people just working on Brakes/hubs!....All year!!! Eya Caarumba?

The truth and we are only the fans.
