STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN

Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Should be any minute now. We were pretty much tied with Peterhansel after adjusted time. He left 25 minutes after us but was 24 minutes faster at WP13.

I hope to have technical issues resolved with chat tomorrow

I will be interesting to hear what the problem was. With two people, I suspect I could bleed my street car's brakes in less than 45 mins, so there must have been something additional going on.

Looks like he had a broken brake line or air in the system. As long as RG is within one hour is good. 305 lost 20 minutes in one cp alone.

I want to see PETER "Pumper" HANSEL turning wrenches on his machine. Robby knows the Gordini inside and out and prolly saved his chances to fight another day.

He won several Dakars on Bikes, so he would not be unfamiliar with doing repairs to his equipment

Unfortunately, RG will not be within 1 hour when all this is said and done. Through WP 13 he is 1 hour 20 min off and still counting. He is way overdue for the ASS.

^^^ This was an ominous situation.

Looks like he will be around 2+ hours at this point. I just hope he gets the car through the stage to live to fight another day.

Another 11 days!
